Wednesday we had the opportunity to travel around Dayton to the participating KinderCare partners in our annual Movers for Moms collection for Harvest House Dayton. Today, we are going to pick up the donated items from Pathway School of Discovery! Here are a few pictures from the pick-up…
Yesterday I had the pleasure of joining a group of moms while they visited their 2nd graders at Pathway School of Discovery for a big surprise! We all sat around waiting in the parent room while the kids got ready for us. None of the moms knew what the surprise was! These kids had been keeping it a secret for quite some time and there wasn’t one mom who knew what was going on. It was hard to sit quietly the whole time knowing that their kids were about to perform a special song just for them!
It’s that time of year again! Our annual Movers for Moms® program is in full swing and has more participation than ever before. We’re happy to announce the support of several area KindCare® Learning Centers collecting items for Harvest House! And we can’t forget our faithful partners at Pathway School of Discovery. This will be their third year participating with us!
Here is a list of the items that the shelter is in need of. We are also accepting creature-comfort/gift-type items such as lotions and soaps to give to the moms.

For the last month or so we’ve been actively engaged in collecting items for Harvest House Dayton as part of our annual Movers for Moms® program. We’ve done two radio segments and we’ve dropped off collection boxes at Pathway School of Discovery. Along with the boxes we passed out a coloring page as a thank you to the kids for their support.
This morning I decided to print out a few coloring pages for my little ones and talk to them about the importance of helping those in need around us. They are great little listeners when armed with crayons and paper! We talked about all of the things we use everyday at home to take care of ourselves. Later today we’re going to take a trip to the store and I am going to let the shop for items off the list of needs from Harvest House Dayton. It’s always an adventure when you let a 2 and 4 year old push the “kid” carts at Kroger! I’d take pictures of that, but I think I’ll be too busy apologizing to people who get bumped!
Want teach your child to love others? You can start today no matter what age they are! Feel free to download our coloring page here. You can also go here to find the list of items needed by Harvest House Dayton.
Not only will your kids have fun coloring, they’ll be learning, and loving. What more could a Mom ask for?
Franchises partner with local shelters, schools and other community organizations to collect goods that will make Mother’s Day special for moms living in shelters.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has women in key leadership roles across the country — some of the most successful franchisees are mothers. Movers for Moms® is a way for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® to appreciate the efforts of mothers everywhere, despite their current circumstances.
In 2012, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® will partner with National Heritage Academies (NHA) schools (K-8) and many other schools throughout the country to facilitate classroom collections. In markets where no NHA schools are present, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® will partner with other charter and private schools, as well as local organizations such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® will pick up and deliver the collected items to partnering women’s shelters on or before Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Moving and Storage is proud to announce Harvest House Dayton as our partnering shelter. All items collected will be donated to Harvest House and their mission to “prepare disadvantaged young women to take on the world with new hope and life skills.”
Please join us in collecting items such as toilet paper, canned goods, laundry detergent, paper towels, towels, wash clothes, and other everyday items for the ladies. Harvest House also organizes a Princess Program were graduates are showered with a true “Princess Day” where they are pampered and presented with a goodie bag. Small feminine type items such as newly purchased lotions, soaps, and lip gloss would help make this day even more special! Last year Movers for Moms® was able to collect over 65,000 donated items nationwide and this year their goal is to break 100,000!
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Moving and Storage is committed to collecting as many items for this shelter as possible to support the everyday needs of a fully functioning household. So far Pathway School of Discovery is on board again this year in collecting items for these worthy women. Here are a few shots from our collection last year.
Currently we are looking for more schools, businesses, and churches to become donation sites. If you are interested please contact us asap! We have several PR opportunities lined up (WHIO Radio and WGTZ (92.9 Fly) to name a few) and we’d be happy to mention you as a partner!
