Moving to a new neighborhood? Perhaps the proper way to meet the neighbors would be for them to pop in with a warm plate of chocolate chip cookies and introduce themselves. But what if they don’t?
What if you’re left waiting, wondering…
People are busy these days and more and more we find ourselves trapped behind an ever-glowing screen. It’s where we work, it’s where we play, it’s where we socialize. Like it or not you really have to be intentional about meeting the people around you– In person!
So why not break the neighborhood mold and introduce yourself for a change. You might even unpack some bakeware and break in the new oven! Even if you don’t do anything fancy, a simple note with your name and contact information would be nice. This way if they’re not home you can leave it in the mailbox. At least you tried! Now the ball’s in their court. Hopefully this will break the ice and help them feel comfortable enough to stop by and meet you.
It’s a wonderful thing to know your neighbors. Who knows you may need someone to grab the mail from time-to-time or keep an eye on things when your out of town. But hopefully your little introduction will be the start of a beautiful friendship!
